Shop with a Cop

Since 1997, the Great Falls Police Protective Association (GFPPA) has provided hundreds of underprivileged children with a wonderful Christmas gift…a holiday shopping spree. Children, nominated by agencies and schools in the Great Falls community, are paired with Great Falls police officers who treat them to a spirited day of shopping. Shop With A Cop is proven to afford fun, excitement and a little holiday magic for many of Great Falls disadvantaged children who may otherwise go without during the holiday season.

 

 

Shop With A Cop is the GFPPA’s largest program. The event not only aids under-privileged children but helps foster positive relationships by allowing children to enjoy one-on-one time with uniformed police officers in a non-threatening situation. We are lucky to see, firsthand, the value in the program. Program recipients of years past frequently recall how much fun they had and what a positive and lasting impact the interaction with the officer had on their life.

The GFPPA in a non-profit charitable endeavor and is operated strictly by volunteers; it is comprised solely of current sworn officers of the Great Falls Police Department. The GFPPA has no administrative or overhead costs and 100% of monetary donations go directly to a child or youth program.
